I tried several of the removal tools because the only thing it says in the program uninstallįeature in the Control Panel is: "Norton Internet Security (Symantec Corporation)" and the other, "LiveUpdate 3.2 (Symantec Corporation". We did a "restore point" then so I could try the Norton Removal Tool without using the Control Panel uninstall feature, but the same thing keeps happening over and over. Tried this several times, then remembered the Norton Removal Tool - howeverĮvery time I tried a Norton Removal Tool from the Norton site, I would download to the Desktop (as specified)and get a "File is Corrupt" message with a big red "X" in the box. When we put Vista on the new hard drive however, I tried removing Norton through the Control Panel uninstall, then tried loading MSE however MSE could not complete all the updates. I had Kaspersky and AVG afterwards, but finally installed Windows Security Essentials (with anti-virus, etc.) and we really liked it because it worked well, ran smoothly and there were no compatibility The Control Panel) successfully so I could install Kaspersky.
